I agree with others that the ending was rushed. I enjoy the stories, but the books themselves have so many typos and grammatical errors, I can’t see paying for the next. I don’t know how this author charges what she does for her books and sells so many books when she never corrects what readers point out time and time again.

Surprising twists with suspenseful storytelling

I knew there was something going on, but just couldn’t quite put my finger on it! The author does an excellent job of bringing doubt to your mind and keeping you interested, without giving away the truth at all. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Oh my god, this was abysmal. I am an avid reader, and thrillers are definitely my favorite, but this is so boring and bad. It feels like a C-plot in a really bad drama series that’s six seasons in. The grammar is awful, Jessie is a typical Mary Sue who gets congratulated for being soooo awesome at every turn, and the twist ending is so easy to guess, I figured it out the second she started her practicum. I seriously doubt an adult who graduated high school wrote this.

Lots of twists and turns, up and downs in Jessie’s marriage. Who can she trust and does she really know her husband? She always felt something was off with their new life in suburbia but couldn’t put her finger on it until she found men at their exclusive club cheating on their wives. As a student, she was able to interview a serial killer that left even more questions about her past when she was abducted as a child. Murder, drugs, cover-up, miscarriage it’s all in this book.

I wanted to find a series to start and I stumbled on this. Since it was free I gave it a chance but it was slow and not much exciting happened. There was a ton of grammatical errors which is just so annoying. I won’t be continuing the series especially since the next book costs money

So I read a review before I bought this talking about how great this book was in the beginning but it got sloppy and rushed towards the end and I completely agree. It’s a decent book, if it would have kept the same pace at the end that was in the beginning it would have been a really good book. Still it was a page turner, I tried putting it down to go to sleep at a decent time but I couldn’t. I got back up and finished it because I had to know how it ended. All in all I would recommend to a friend trying to find a book to read on a plane.

Great storyline, could’ve been better executed

This book is full of typos and grammatical errors, and the book doesn’t flow as well as it could. The storyline is great - I just felt that the plot was either too slow or too fast.

This novel is pretty short comparatively speaking. It's decent for a storyline but there could have been way more character development and storyline included to really get you hooked on the characters but it felt rushed and therefore a little flat. It's a short, fun read that really makes Newport Beach (Westport Beach) (I live here) look like suburban hell but written from the point of view of an LA lover I guess it's to be expected because of the OC/LA rivalry. I love a good crime novel so I'm hoping the author improves her character development.

Definitely a page turner e-book that was well written. Excellent, thriller book that definitely keeps you reading. Highly recommend this book be added to your reading list.

Interesting plot; ending left too much dangling: more a ploy to sell the sequels. Also at least 5 instances of omitted words. Could do better editing.

This was an exceptional read in so many ways! It kept me engaged, on the edge of my seat and even had me shout a few times!! Hahaha I was finished in record time & immediately buying the next one! My first time reading a Blake Pierce novel. If all the books are this entertaining then I’m definitely a fan going forward!!! #LoveToRead

4-1/2 stars Just a bit too much all in one story which is obviously setting the stage for sequels. But certainly worth the read. Entertaining, fast paced and strong female lead

Lots of twists and turns, up and downs in Jessie’s marriage. Who can she trust and does she really know her husband? She always felt something was off with their new life in suburbia but couldn’t put her finger on it until she found men at their exclusive club cheating on their wives. As a student, she was able to interview a serial killer that left even more questions about her past when she was abducted as a child. Murder, drugs, cover-up, miscarriage it’s all in this book.

Slow and kinda boring

I wanted to find a series to start and I stumbled on this. Since it was free I gave it a chance but it was slow and not much exciting happened. There was a ton of grammatical errors which is just so annoying. I won’t be continuing the series especially since the next book costs money

Good airplane book.

So I read a review before I bought this talking about how great this book was in the beginning but it got sloppy and rushed towards the end and I completely agree. It’s a decent book, if it would have kept the same pace at the end that was in the beginning it would have been a really good book. Still it was a page turner, I tried putting it down to go to sleep at a decent time but I couldn’t. I got back up and finished it because I had to know how it ended. All in all I would recommend to a friend trying to find a book to read on a plane.

Great storyline, could’ve been better executed

This book is full of typos and grammatical errors, and the book doesn’t flow as well as it could. The storyline is great - I just felt that the plot was either too slow or too fast.

Short but a page turner

This novel is pretty short comparatively speaking. It's decent for a storyline but there could have been way more character development and storyline included to really get you hooked on the characters but it felt rushed and therefore a little flat. It's a short, fun read that really makes Newport Beach (Westport Beach) (I live here) look like suburban hell but written from the point of view of an LA lover I guess it's to be expected because of the OC/LA rivalry. I love a good crime novel so I'm hoping the author improves her character development.

Amazing!

This book was amazing! It reads well, it isn’t slow getting into the story like some of the other free books I have read.. And I honestly didn’t expect it to end the way it does. (no spoilers!) I can’t wait to buy the second book!
